At home in: Twilight

Edward Cullen: “What did you expect? Coffins, and dungeons and moats?”
Bella: “Not the moats.”

This house and the "Cullen" style was a surprise for a lot of people watching the movie. The style consists of very nice designer pieces mixed with much older pieces you can imagine Carlisle, or Esme picking up over the centuries. There is not a lot of fuss, everything is comfortable, and has what they, or the occasional guest's needs.

CULLEN HOME decor according to me

Top Trends Heading into Summer

Normally I ignore the trend lists, because after a few seasons they all look the same- purple is the new black, lipstick is in, bright eyes, yada yada yada..... So I made my own list. I scoured the runways and found looks that are FRESH and you can wear in your day to day life, unlike harem pants.

3. The "Boyfriend" Blazer (yes it will be here for a while)

4. White, still a classic

5. Relax fit pants

6. Clean, lean + cropped pants

7. Flowing in pastels

8. Nude everything *especially shoes!

9. Bold prints

10. Clean face + Bright lip

A "Perfect" Valentines Day

I think the picture gets my idea across. This is obviously not a male oriented holiday. Guys: There is still time to make your preparations, and yes, it does matter. Try to pull what you remember from "When Harry Met Sally", "Titanic", "An Affair to Remember" or "The Notebook". If those sound unfamiliar stop by blockbuster, and do some research. Check out this list for more movie ideas, although some are definitely better than others. No pressure, but you only get one chance a year, no matter how you feel about this Hallmark holiday.

How to: Wear Vintage Jewelry

Vintage jewelry has one thing in common, no one wears it any more. So I say, go big or go home. Pick one piece, something big, bright, humorous or glamourous and wear it. Keep other accessories simple or none and focus of that one piece. It it is a brooch, then wear a coat that will make stand out. If it is a necklace then wear a simple top with a good neckline for the length and size of the piece.

Remember with vintage jewelry, less is more.

*clothes were found at BananaRepublic.com and jewelry was found an etsy.com

How to: Decorate a Holiday Table

Yes, its the time for decorationg, cookies, family, turkey, presents, and the list continues... With the "to dos" never over, anything that shortens the list is AMAZING! Here are my simple steps to creating a holiday center piece for the table that will be packed, at least for the next month or so.

First. Find your style, and pick at least the top three elements in the style.

Here sre some examples of different styles:

Rustic

Modern

Traditional

Second. Look at your space, and decide the size that is practical for your entertaining.

Third. Take your "filler" such as garland, and arange in the designated space, adjusting the pedals, branches or whatever the filler contains. This is also the time to position lights, or candles (remember to decorate in odd numbers!). Filler can also be the third element.

In this wreath the fir is the filler and third element, the leaf the the second element and the balls are the first/main element.

Fourth. Take the third element (the one there is the most of) and evenly distribute through your "filler". Repeat the the second element (there should be less of this element that the third)

Fifth. Take your first element, the most important, the element that defines your style, and distribute as the main focus.

These are the basic steps that will give you a beautiful centerpiece, wreath, or mantle. As a basic rule, think in threes three different colors, textures, or elements ex. cedar, red berries, and a bow or fir, cedar, and leaves. So many combinations to try, get started!

Enjoy!

Denim Madness

Denim. Thank you Mr. Struass for changing the world of fashion for ever.

Denim these days looks less and less like the original. some more dressy trouser, some, don't have enough left to say exactly what you're looking at. Endless possibilities, a constant from coast to coast, rich and poor. Here are my favorites, practical or not.

Just Cavallli
Just Cavalli

Wear them with tough booties, or cute flats, or just in your dreams, if you aren't quite brave enough to try. Next time you see a pair and you don't quite know what they are, try them on, you may just feel like a rock star.
